First fintexx - women in finance dinner in Madrid

Hola Madrid! - the first Spanish fintexx dinner

On October 8th,  2019, the who’s who of the Spanish female finance industry met for an evening of networking and compelling discussions at the

fintexx - women in finance dinner in Madrid, Spain.

Of course, we would be remiss if we didn’t mention the finleap ecosystem’s impressive presence in Spain in helping connect and bring all of these amazing women together. The main goal of fintexx - women in finance is to connect women all across Europe to uplift them and give them more opportunities to network, and this dinner was another example of our commitment to this cause.

Set in the Restaurante Lua, a total of 15 women from the fintech and banking industries gathered for Dr. Carolin Gabor’s, Founder of the fintexx - women in finance initiative, opening remarks, and Victoria Yasinetskaya’s, Chief Marketing Office for Banco Santander’s OnePay FX, keynote on feminie energy in business.

Carolin opened the evening and welcomed the guests to fintexx’s first-ever event in Spain. In her opening remarks, she introduced the mission and vision behind the initiative and led a short introductory round of all of those in attendance.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the guest keynote from

Victoria Yasinetskaya, who gave insight into her research for her brand new book "Alphas & Omegas: the power of feminine energy in business". She shared some of the results of her research, such as how intrinsic female and male characteristics differ from each other and how important it is to keep them in balance. As a working, (maybe) married woman looking to (potentially) have children, she shared how difficult it is to be an Alpha at work, yet have a balanced, equal relationship at home.
Victoria’s insights led to a group conversation about supporting women in the workplace in the finance industry. The group agreed that there is an urgent need for a larger female presence in these companies and that mentoring programs are an excellent tool to help support existing female employees. It was generally agreed upon that having a good mentor/role model who empowers and encourages younger or less senior female colleagues to help each other grow is an integral factor to a woman’s success.

Thank you to all of the wonderful women in attendance, and to Victoria for sharing some amazing insight into powerful feminine energy in the finance industry!
